See 2007. I sincerely think he works better with pitchers than Molina. To be fair to Molina, his sample size is pretty low.
To be fair Posada caught just 8 games last year and Molina 6 so both have a pretty small sample size wrt to Phil. And while most of Phils numbers are better with Jose behind the plate, he also gave up 6 of his 8 HRs last year with Jose behind the dish in fewer innings.

I was thinking re: Posada not just Phil, but every other pitcher he had to deal with in 2007.

My point being, the Yanks have had some pretty dry years in recent history. Better yet, we're dealing with a totally different crop of players today than we did 10 or even 20 years ago. I see a lot of great things thusfar with this team. Granted, there is a lot of room for improvement - but we are only playing the 8th game of the season.

Actually the worst team in the league just improved to 5-1. KC is no longer horrible, they have some nice young players. I think they are still several players away from contending but they don't look like a doormat team anymore either.

Yea thats what Im saying. The team that will likely have the worst record in the AL can still beat the yanks or tigers on any given day and look good doing it. The AL is going to be tough to navigate this year.

Yea but I remember days especially in the late 90s when the yanks would play the Royals or the Tigers or the Rays and you would just take for granted a sweep. Those days are long gone and all of those teams are much improved.

The slow starts really hurt sometimes, but it's not about how you start, it's about how you finish. I just want them to say out of a hole like last year's where they have to play like the devil is breathing on their necks to make the playoffs.
With young pitchers there will be good days and bad days, but there's always the potential for great days, and if the offense remembers what hitting is, there's the potential for a great season.
melky safe at first on infield single to third
