View Full Version : Auction TOMORROW! (Friday)
Don't forget, the Auction is tomorrow -- March 14th at 9:15pm, Eastern Time.
For some reason the Sportsline site has it as tomorrow, at 4:00pm.
Why? I dunno. I am working with Sportsline to see why it says that...

I tried to watch some NBA last night only to notice the game already started for about an hour. Then it hit me. You guys already switched your clocks. Here in Europe we won't, until the end of March. So I guess 9.15 PM EST is 03.15 AM over here, not 04.15 :) That's good to know :P
Ahh yes, good to know.
As a base comparison, the time in NY right now is 1:08pm

Hello all - in Hong Kong right now. I am trying my best to make it tomorrow!

Excellent!
To all -- if the auction starts at 4pm because Sportsline is screwed up, I will use commissioner tools to pause it until 9:15.

Wait, I totally forgot how the auction works...I will have to be on cbssportsline by 9:15 tomorrow? Will the instructions be easy to follow? I've never done an auction online.

9:15pm tonight (Friday in the US)
Yes, go to the CBS Sportsline page and there should be a link to enter the auction room.
Hong Kong seems to be exactly 12 hours ahead of me, so I guess It's 9:15am Saturday morning for you...
Current US NYC time is 8:46am, Friday March 14th
Unfortunately I won't be able to draft in person and it appears that for auctions, Sportsline doesn't support any pre-ranking or valuing. This is kind of beyond my control so I'll hope for the best.

Right...but their default values are in-line with most of the major magazines.

You can go to www.fantasyauctioneer.com and do a quick mock auction. I think you can even do it with no other participants just to experience the interface.

How much time will we have:
- to pick a new player?
- to make a bid (after the last bid has been made)?
Thanks

Not sure, since this is the first time using Sportsline (instead of FantasyAuctioneer).
It says "Bid time limit" 20 seconds.
So does this mean that you have 20 seconds to nominate a player?
Or 20 seconds from the last bid until the player gets sold?
Dunno. We will find out in 10 hours...
Usually there is 60 seconds to nominate a player. I should have full commissioner controls, and will try to make those the defaults.
60 sec to nominate.
20 sec countdown clock.

I don't see a 'draft' link on the league homepage.
Hopefully it shows up later...?
