View Full Version : A Great Solution...Maybe
Hey Jim,
Maybe you can put a limit to posts daily on each of the forums. You can bring bac "just conversation" anmd put a limit. The limit would get filled up and then after that nobody can post until the next day. That way people can still talk and once it is filled up then there is no place left but baseball talk and yankee talk.
Tell me your thoughts?
Maybe others can jump in???
Thanks Butnud, I'll keep it in mind.

While a limit might seem to help, I don't know if it is the solution. I mean, say the only time certain forumers go on is late at nite (i.e. Russ, who's three hours behind us), and all the "Just Conversation" topics are filled up, they may have some good thoughts they never get a chance to post.
Is the software advanced enough to do that, Jim?
I, personally, like the "Just Conversation" topic, because, unlike Yankees.com, I don't find it to be a real social, cliquey type forum. The topics posted there, for the most part, are not stupid polls like "what's your favorite TV show" and not things like "this is my 500th post!!!" (though I'm guilty of doing the second one!). It's mainly just an alternative for baseball fans who don't feel like talking baseball at the moment; it gives them a break and a place just for anything else, really. And some of the topics aren't even that off baseball -- like Catherine's Yankee photos, for instance.
I understand you want to keep this site intelligent, for the most part, but maybe you're overreacting just a little bit by shutting down "Just Conversation" completely. Perhaps you could redefine the purpose of the "Just Conversation" forum? Or else the purpose of the site in general? Just my personal recommendation...
I am sorry, but I have to disagree with you Penguin.
Jim's purpose, and correct me if I am wrong Jim, was for people to talk more of basebal land the Yankees. The posts in the just conversation got to be more popular then the ones which resemble this site. Jim didn't clsoe it down just to be a trouble maker. he closed it down because he wants us to focus more on baseball and the yanks rather than concentrating on our social lives. Sur ehe wants to all talk and have a good time, but he also wants us to focus on the team that we all love so much!
There is already another post on this subject. Please continue this discussion there.
