Canada is playing Finland in the quarter-finals tommorrow. They have won the last 3, and this is a rather large event for us Canadians.

Let's go Canada!

Hopefully Halischuk continues to play well for you.

I think if you have the NHL Network you can see it.

Yep...I was watching some of the Canada-Finland game earlier. The NHL Network is an absolute godsend.

Looking forward to the Canada-USA game!

I hope the US makes it to the finals, since I will be at work the entire time they play Canada. I'm off most weekends including this one so if they make it I can listen to the final. Go USA!

Canada has had an up and down tournament but Drew Doughty (08 draft eligible D) has been pretty solid for them.

For the US its all about James van Riemsdyk. It kills me that he is a Flyers prospect

Islander prospect Kyle Okposo has looked OK in the tournament despite a bunch of garbage time points against poor competition. Fellow Isles prospect, Rhett Rakhshani has looked much better IMO.

Steve Stamkos
John Taveras.

2 Canadians because I havent watched any USA game.

Doughty has been better than either of them IMO.

Stamkos is going to be a hell of a player though. My best friend (an Islander fan who works for the team and is Greek) wants the Isles to tank the season so they can draft him

.

Yeah, but it's kind of nice that he's a NJ kid. I coached ice hockey in Mercer County for Hightstown HS. We used to get killed by Brick all the time when we played them in non-conference games. The Dowd brothers were unreal, way above our players abilities. The shore area has produced some very good hockey players over the years. Nice to hear about JvR.

I watched the 2007 Super Series between Russia and Canada on TV while in Vancouver. It was a treat to watch.

Russia defeats the U.S. 4-2 in the third place game.

It would be a good idea, in fantasy world ofcourse.......he just looks so smooth out there. If Ovechkin stays with Washington, they could form a nice tandem in the future.

Cherepanov finished with 6 points in 7 games ( 3 goals and 3 assists ). I hope we draft another Russian next summer.....Nikita Filatov.

Canada dominated the first two periods, Sweden dominated the third, tying it up with under 40 seconds to go, then in OT Matt Halischuk (NJD) won it for Canada by driving hard to the net and banging the puck in!

Ugh...I was rooting for Sweden to win this. I hate Canada in these international hockey competitions.

I'm still bitter about their incessant whining during the 2002 Olympics, as well as the way the Canadian fans treated the USA players at the Juniors a few years ago in Vancouver.

I'm sure you meant to say "the way some of the Canadian fans treated the USA players." ;)
