But the girl was hot and there was alot of screaming. Didn't you know that's the only requirements for a scary movie?

Saw Final Destination 3 (hadn't seen the first two) last night. More mediocrity. And between that and When a Stranger Calls I've now seen a dozen horror movie previews in the past week.

Going to see "Date Movie" with my girlfriend this weekend! I'll give peeps a lowdown if someone doesn't beat me to it. ;)

Same.

I heard about it, and heard it wasn't that good. They don't even show you how he dies even though it was taped. Many people believe this was his way of committing suicide.

I'm seeing Dane Cook live on 4/15 at the friggin' Fleet-BankBoston-Garden-Center w/17,000 friggin' people. Not 18 months ago I saw him at the Comedy Connection (FRONT ROW) with a capacity of about 250. It was sweet, he kept high fiving me and hitting the visor of my cap for no reason...well, cause he's nuts I guess.

Someone brought this to my attention from the Sports Guy yesterday...

From Mitch Levy in New York: "You have to write a story about 'Grizzly Man.' It's supposed to be a serious documentary about a guy who lives in Alaska every summer with the bears (who eventually eat him). It's hilarious at every level from the absolute wing-nut bear lover, to the pretentious German filmmaker, and the wacky casts of friends that get interviewed and tell nonsensical stories about him. The message boards at imdb.com are a fight between the naturalists who think it was a beautiful movie and those who think this was better than 'Spinal Tap.'"

Mitch, I'm with you: It's the first documentary since "American Movie" that ranks a perfect 100 on the Unintentional Comedy Scale. First of all, it's directed by Werner Herzog, who (incredibly) decided to narrate the movie even though he sounds like he's auditioning for a Hans & Frans sketch. Second, the Grizzly Man guy is an absolute maniac and can't be described even remotely. You just have to see him in action. He's surpassed Mark Byars (from "Paradise Lost") and Mark Borchardt for me, and I never thought I would say that. Third, there are so many ridiculously funny moments (like when Grizzly Man claims that he lost out to Woody Harrelson as Coach's replacement on "Cheers," or when he's playing with the bear poop) that you can't even believe it's happening as it's happening. I kept thinking that this was like the "Blair Witch Project," some sort of elaborate hoax by the creators of "Mr. Show." But it's not. And fourth, this is the first movie that I can remember that glorifies someone who's completely insane. I mean, COMPLETELY. Utterly and totally.

(You have to rent this movie -- it's disturbing, hilarious, creepy, haunting, you name it. I won't even spoil the ending for you. Just see it.)

This makes it sound like it could be worth a look.

The first show in Boston sold out ($40 a ticket) and they added a second and the ticket prices pretty much doubled.

The one downside to seeing him live is that when his next CD comes out you'll have heard about 80% of the jokes already when you saw him live.

I just seen Anapolis, Big Mama 2 and Final Destination 3. All movies I will give a 5 which means blah.

Anapolis was a mini rip off of the flood of boxing movies that we have seen in the theaters lately. Big Mama part one was a lot better than part 2 (what a suprise there, part one's are always better than the sequels) and I had never seen Final Destination 1 or 2 to compare it to part 3.

Anybody see "The New World"? I was thinking about going to see it but I haven't heard anything good about it.

Here is my response to this movie in page 4 of this thread. As you could see, I didn't like the movie one bit. :D

The day after Christmas I saw the New World with Colin Farell. The movie was almost 3 hours long and I wasted my money because the plot was total bulls$%t. :enraged: Warning: Don't bother to see this movie. Colin Farell is 0-2 with me: Alexander and now this load of crap.

Just saw it recently. There are some "unintentional comedy" moments in it, for sure, but its kind of just the sad story of a really screwed up individual.

In a way I feel bad for this guy because he probably thought he was going to come across as some heroic protector of bears, but instead he comes off like a nutjob who seriously underestimated just how powerful these creatures could be, if they wanted to.

Regardless of how you feel about Treadwell, read this story about this man who writes his take on his final moments. It's chilling stuff.
