Some guys like Cano seems to at least get ha fair amount of hits on his first pitch swinging, I could be wrong but that does not seem to be the case with Derek.

Sounds about right, I remember him getting a lot of first pitch hits but not so much this year.

.299 is really bad numbers for swinging at the first pitch, if you swing at the first pitch you better have great numbers because even if you get a hit you make the pitcher throw around 4 pitches less.

and I think Arod might have lenghtened his swing lately ever since he hit 50 and wants to hit homers ... he should and will go back to his normal 'singles' swing because he will keep grounding out like this

Everything has been standard. 4 seamer straight, curveball 12 to 6, change has a bit of a tail, and his 2 seamer has decent left to right movement.

I just had my HD-DVR installed today by DTV. Looks great. It would probably look better if I wasnt sitting 3 feet from the TV. But its here after waiting a month and I'm set for Yanks-Sox in HD this weekend.

At times, he's missed to the middle of the plate so I'm not totally comfortable with him. But I feel he can give them another quality start.

I know Melky hit a linedrive but I dont like him swinging there at 3-1, Brunett was wild he probably would have walked him, and as Melky showed, even if you hit it hard there is no guarantee of a hit. 4 balls however guarantees 1st base.

Pedigree, as somebody said above. Kennedy was a highly regarded college pitcher who was a first rounder. Clippard was an 8th rounder I think.
