It looks interesting. He was looked at as a top 5 rd guy in 06 but has had a few bouts with tendonitis .After reading up on him it looks like teams were scared off by fears of TJ surgery http://www.potomacnews.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WPN%2FMGArticle%2FWPN_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1149188351916&path=!sport

That's strange. According to BA. The Dimondbacks drafted him with their 19th pick this year and signed him.

They drafted him in 06 in the 48th rd and after the CC league looked to sign him I read but he went back to Liberty U.

It clearly states that Michael Solbach from Liberty has signed as a 19th rd pick of the D'backs on BA's website.

That's strange. According to BA. The Dimondbacks drafted him with their 19th pick this year and signed him. Weird is all I can say. Same guy, unless he was signed and released need TJS ? Cool a mystery....:D http://www.baseballamerica.com/draftdb/2007xteam.php?team=ARI

There is no record of him playing in the minors for 2007. Whether he is the same Solbach signed by Arizona, no indication.

In fact, I'm guessing that the BA report was in error
This shows him signing with AZ on July 20
July 20, 2007
Thomas, Solbach, Judy Sign
Three more Valley League draftees have signed over the past week or so: Tony Thomas (Harrisonburg 05), Michael Solbach (Luray 05), and Josh Judy (Haymarket 06-07).

Solbach, drafted in the 19th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks, has not played professionally just yet.

He may have signed and then released due to an injury. This is just my opinion not a known fact...

Baseball cube only has a record of one Michael Solbach, the one drafted and signed by Arizona. Maybe BA madea mistake showing his signing under the Yanks.

That link says nothing about the Yankees....

That link says nothing about the Yankees.... Go to the BA Link and scroll down the Transactions page to the Yankee section. I would think its a mistake but he shows up no where with the D'backs after signing on the 30th.I checked 4 minor league sites and found zilch on this guy. The more pre draft stuff I find is pretty exciting though barring the tendonitis.Could be nice bonus pick for us.

Here's what happened according to BA.

"Editor's note: Solbach agreed to terms with the Diamondbacks, but the contract was voided. He later signed a contract with the Yankees."

plus 90's fastball, rangy build (6'3)

Sounds like he is out of the current textbook for Yankee projects.

He was 22-10 with around a 4.00 era in 3 seasons for Liberty. Although it sounds like he had elbow problems during his last two seasons.

Get healthy soon Mike.

If I'm reading this correctly, he was drafted twice by the Diamondbacks, and wound up signing with the Yankees?

Should he be considered a PTBNL in the RJ trade? :D

Sounds like he might be in for TJS ?

We must be getting bulk discounts on TJS

Seems like a smart pickup - especially with the success rate Dr Andrews has.

I guess the "dude" abides ;):
