Did anyone catch this yesterday on CBS? I put it on just to check it out and wound up getting caught up. Can't wait for the next show.

If nothing else you have to check the guys out that did the Guitar Hero final. They are just amazing. I couldn't believe the amount of notes they hit.

The Warcraft competition was really cool as well. A little too fast for me to keep up but it was entertaining watching the team that won absolutely dominate.

What else did they play?

I saw a comercial and was interested....do they have people play a game they are good at, or do the same people play a variety of games?

I think, from what I gather, this is the end result of a series of tournaments held. All these players are the best of the best competing for titles.

That sounds really cool...

I like the idea of getting Warcraft-heads playing something like Madden late in the tourney.

Was the boxing EA's FightNight? I'm pretty nasty at that game.

With DirectTV HD, there is a channel solely dedicated to Video games. They often have the World Warcraft Tournaments, or UNreal Tournament, or Counter-strike. They show all different players screens and give comentary as if it was a sports match.

They also have a show called Cinemaddicts. Where they will beat a game, start to finish, and just show it. So basically youre watching someone else play a game flawlessly. It was really interesting watching games like Hitman, where there are so many different ways to do things. to see how a walkthrough basically tells you to do it is cool.

I actually don't like the idea of people competing in games they don't know or aren't good at. I think if you hold a "world series" of something, you have to have the best of the best show up. I've seen tournaments before that do what you suggest but this way was so much more entertaining.

This reminds me of that movie, The Wizard.
