haha is this nun behind homeplate because i havent seen her. and i dont think im blind:DShe is sitting on the 1b side by the Yankees dugout. YES, showed a shot of Tony Pena in the 1B coaching box and you could see the nun sitting in the first row in the background.

Would yah' look at that.
Clippard is leaning towards 1st base sometimes, and other times 3rd base, after every pitch he throws.
I wonder if Suzyn and Sterling noticed.

I don't understand the point of continuing to needle Suzyn for something she did over a month ago.
It's all in good fun.

He had the leadoff guy 0-2, then walked him. You knew that no good was going to come of that.
Exactly. Seemed like he tried to nibble to get the K. He got one close call, but you have to challenge hitters with a 3-0 lead and nobody on base.
It happens. Clippard has to learn to deal with it and not throw a meatball on the next pitch. Not to say he isn't getting squeezed, but he shouldn't give in.
It happens and it usually costs the pitcher. Not everyone is Pedro Martinez and can throw a ridiculously nasty out pitch on 3-2 for a strike. It costs almost all of them

Bad luck with the throw. Let's go Tyler! Strike him out!

The ump didn't make Clippard throw a meatball afterward. And blaming umpires doesn't get him or the team very far. It sucks, but he needs to learn to deal.

its weird, tyler is pitching well. His throws look good but the results and pitch count are off.

I'm not Clippard, I can blame the ump all I want. Clippard may have thrown a meatball but all the sudden he has to throw a strike because the ump put him down in the count. Noone said Clippard did a great job to overcome the ump, but what would be better is if the ump kept a consistent strike zone
its weird, tyler is pitching well. His throws look good but the results and pitch count are off. Then maybe his throws aren't as "good" as they look?

Clippard's at 49 pitches, after two. :(

The throws are good, but he doesnt have a dominant/put-away pitch. So there is always a good chance of him having lond innings

At this rate, maybe only 5 innings for Tyler. If we're leading by 5 runs by then, maybe Torre would leave him in to stretch out a bit...

Chacon is at 39 through 1 at least.

Doesn't get you very far either, does it?
All pitchers get bad calls once in a while. But they can't let it affect their gameplan. If you get squeezed on a close pitch, you can't just throw a BP fastball over the middle on the next pitch.

Clipps getting squeezed.
He got squeezed that inning. At least two strikes (one on an 0-2 count) were called balls. Oh well. At least we still have the lead and Nieves flies out.

Clean shaven Pena looks too ordinary. I want the cartoon version back.
Oh, Wil.... Good luck next time!
Nieves flies out on the second pitch, one gone.
TRY to make Chacon have another long inning at least!

It's only two hitters, one of them being Nieves, whose bat is in a perpetual coma.

Has anyone ever finished a season with more than 50 ABs and only 1 hit? Cause Nieves seems like a good candidate to do it
At this rate, Chacon will have thrown fewer pitches through two than Clippard.

Yanks score big --> pitching (almost) gives up the lead --> Offense sleeps
This pattern is all too familiar to us. Hopefully it doesn't haunt us for the entire game.
