Can driving a car around in circles really fast constitute athletic activity? How can it be a sport? Actually I can't imagine the strain of that for a few hours. And not being able to stop to pee? Ouch.

Over 100 degrees in the car, taking 3-4 G-forces at every turn, mental concentration that is required. I would challenge you to take a racing course someday and give it a spin...so to speak. You'll gain a whole new appreciation.

The way the Yankees are playing, 3-0 is probably an insurmountable lead.

Its almost over right now. Sometimes you just make a value judgement on how the game is going. No pitcher, Clemens included can expect to win if the offense cant do anything.

In the words of Sterling, "You can have all the pitching you want, but you can't win if you dont score".

Ward, I conceded the division to the Red Sox already about a week ago. I just want to get in the playoffs and take my chances with that specific team in a 4 of 7 situation as opposed to trying to run them down over the 162.

However, the Yanks have to at least get to .500 before we can entertain any discussion of them in any race. Once they get that, when they are at 10 over, then they can even bring up the Red Sox. Hard to say "this is how we are going to gain on Boston" when the team is under .500 and they are close to 20 over.

Baseball is an art form. Nothing compares to it. ;)

I can't stand watching cars drive around the SAME oval for HOURS. Then again, I've never been to a race, only seen them on TV.

Art? How about placing your car in just the right place to cause the one you are trying to pass to slip up the track? Manipulating the air off the car in front of you to make yours handle better going off into the corner at 180 MPH.

Straight up - I'm a racing fan - the stuff that is hyped on TV, the marketing machine that is NASCAR, isn't the most entertaining form out there...

The Expos were still a year away from having a team and the Yankees were just such a bad team......but like you I`m a NL fan also.....was never sold on the DH.......sorry John....but thats just me.

A-rod doubles with no one on in front of him and no one out. he doesn't score.

Matsui reaches in front of him one AB too late.

I was thinking of how Posada came up with Matsui on 2nd vs. Seattle in the 9th, down by a run. He was 4-6 off Putz and was the AL leader in avg.

Of course he did not get a hit.

Jeter has a .500+ avg with men in scoring position and 2 out. So when he comes up yesterday with that scenario in the 9th to tie the game...

Of course he did not get a hit.

This season has been tough to watch. I bet if you went back and broke down the odds for each of these kinds of scenarios, you'd find that the Yankees have been on an unlucky streak that would make Phil Helmuth proud.
