Jeter got intentionally hit, no doubt in my mind, not hitting Ortiz in that situation was absolutely absurd. they will never hit these guys.

I'm just disgusted these pitchers hardly ever back the players up. What is Farnsworth thinking? The captain of the team gets hit intentionally and you don't at least throw one inside? At least make him dance. I'm not saying go up and in, just go inside at the ribs.

No it was not. Proctor didn't hit Cora on purpose. Everyone knew that wasn't on purpose. Did anyone think he'd hit Cora to put the tying run on base?
It's not a beanball war. It's backing up the captain of this team. If this was the only time this happened, that would be one thing, but it's been like this for the last 5 years. It's an absolute disgrace.

I understand that Piniero 'purposely' hit Jeter...but possibly in retaliation for Cora. Whether Proctors' was intentional or not....
So Farnsworth nails Youk..or Ortiz..or Manny...and then they're gonna come back at one of ours..when does it stop? when someone really gets injured?
Whatever floats your boat..I've never been a proponent for hitting guys..too much risk for serious injury..
