i can tell you why people get frustrated with the adoration of jeter.

these clowns on espn refused to fault jeter and instead congratulated ortiz for his hustle.

he was out by 4 feet had jeter held onto that ball.

He was actually safe, even if Jeter held it. YES showed it in super slo-mo. (I don't know if the ump would have screwed the call up, but he was safe.)

Agreed, but only because Wang got out of it.

Keep in mind, especially at his pitch count, he was one or two hits away
from failing to last five innings, with the Yankees pen needing to protect a 1 or 2 run lead through 12-14 outs. Had that happened, as far as I'm concerned the game would have been very, very dicey.

I agree that Bruney is better than Farns, but for some reason Farns had had success against Boston, particularly against Ortiz.

Though, if Manny is going to bat against him, history has shown that you need to put Melky in LF.

Now we send this game to the bullpen.

No way. Wang is pretty high on the pitch count, yes, but I think you let him try to get through the 6th.

He's over 90 pitches, but I wouldn't put it past Wang to have a 10-15 pitch inning. His average is like 13 pitches, I think.

And would it kill him to throw 110, 115? Let him get through the 6th, then bring in Proctor, Farnsworth, and Rivera.

If Wang gets into any kind of trouble, you have Brian Bruney.

The point is that Torre is constantly playing with fire by making Farns the 8th inning guy. Just look at what he did on Saturday, walking the first two hitters in the bottom of the order sliders.... then he gives up another hit to Franco with yet another slider!

If it's based on merit and not the contract, Bruney should be the guy.
