I am stupified, mystified, and downright clueless as to why this kid hasn't seen any major league ball yet. He's established himself in Columbus after playing for the Navigators last year. Two complete games, a shutout, a TON of innings pitched...
Clearly he is no longer meant to pitch in the minors!
The Yanks should send El Duquecito down and bring Jodie up. I don't want the Indians to get a chance to hammer Adrian again!!!

Again? Right...as opposed to the LAST time the Indians hammered Adrian. Gosh, give the guy a chance. He gave up one run homerun to Manny - EVERYONE gives up a homerun to Manny - and he was pretty good against the Tigers. He's not fantastic and I'll admit that I'm nervous about him, but clearly there's a reason he was called up.
I think we should all remember that those in the Yankees organization do know best about these pitchers. They wouldn't have sent up Adrian if they thought Jodie was a better choice. We can talk all we want about how good Jodie is but if he was a better choice than Adrian then he would be up here. Plain and simple. There's a reason and it's silly to assume we know more about the minor league prospects than the Yankees themselves.
Have either of you actually seen Jodie pitch? Or are you just basing this on his stats that you've read on paper? I'm not trying to be rude, but I really think the Yankees know better.

El Duquecito has done very well so far so why so harsh towards him?? I am anxious to see him pitch again. Give the guy a chance before demoting him. If they thought Jodie was the better choice at present he would have gotten the call up.

How did Jodie pitch last year for the Navigators? I'm not too familiar with him but my impression was that he kind of came out of no where. Perhaps they're not yet convinced he can do the same thing against major league hitters as his does in the minors.

You're right Andy, The Yankees probably know something that I don't, but still I don't really understand.
No, I haven't seen Jodie pitch live, or even on TV for that matter, but I have seen El Duquecito pitch and I've noticed that batters hit the ball hard off him, but it always seems to be hit hard TO someone.

Brett Jodie is indeed a prospect. The problem is that he is way ahead of schedule due to problems with the Yankee pitching staff. With all the injuries, at least three Yankees should be pitching at Columbus. columbus has had to call up pitchers from below. Jodie pitched primarily at Tampa last season (High A). He went to Norwich at the end of the season. He was scheduled for a full season at AA this season, with a possible AAA call up late in the season. he is way ahead out of necessity. As well as he has pitched, he needs experience. The Yankees will not bring him up this season if at all possible. Next spring he will get a look with the big club in spring training.
Ricardo Aramboles, a 19 year old, only a year off season ending surgery is also up at AAA because Columbus needs warm bodies. Don't rush peole who aren't ready

Because the yankees paid Lil El Duque alot of $$$ to play thats why........
And because the yankees don't wanna hassle with protecting him if they call him up..Which means they have to make roster moves.God forbid to better the team.IMO keissler doesn't deserve it ....Send his ass down.

FYI: Brett Jodie Played College Ball(University of South carolina and they were nationally ranked back then) for 4 years....He graduated in 97 and began playing thereafter being drafted...3 years in the minors is usual for the yankees slow projections of players.Jodie is about as ready as he will ever be. I guess he has to throw some AAA perfect games before can be called up. He pitches (now today) @ columbus....I'm gonna be curious how he fairs. He could pitch a third of an inning and get shelled and i'd still think he should be called up.Whats he supposed to do these days keep having a 2.74 era all year? Sounds like a closers ERA to me.....or a darn good reliever..Not a starters. So obviously he's doing somethin' right.

I agree he hasn't been really hammered. But a left lineup is gonna hammer him. He's just not ready yet. He's gonna be a decent pitcher. However all things considered the yankees might be smart..But they aren't gods...Just ask Brien Taylor,Hensley Meulens,Kevin Maas,JAY BUHNER,Jt Snow,Sterling Hitchcock,AL LEITER...The list probably goes on and on.. oh yah Eric Milton and Tony Armas jr...Most recently... Anyway the yankee scouts aren't perfect..And neither are we as fans. But that being said what does he have to do to get a shot at the majors? Do cartwheels or keep throwing 2.74 era's all year?

I agree, but I just think Adrian should be given at least another chance. He wasn't half bad his last outing and God knows how the defense, bullpen, and offense tried their best to give him the loss (which they seem to be doing to all our rookies). Still, he deserves a shot to show us what he's got.
By the way, "what does he have to do to get a shot at the majors?" I would ask the same about Nick Johnson, and he has deserved is shot more and longer than any other rookie down there in AAA. What can you do, though? :(
