Peyton Manning deserved that MVP MUCH more than Brady deserved his first SB MVP. It's not even close.
Calm down, Taylor!
Rhodes would have received my vote.

I'm obsessed with the tournament for the first few days. I'm going to have to figure out a way to get out work for those days... After that, there are still so many just awesome, for lack of a better word, games. I'm not even a huge college basketball fan, but once March comes around, I become a huge fan. And if Vandy can do any damage this year, it becomes that much better.:)

My husband won $250 for the third quarter, and he would have won another $350 if the Colts had kicked the last FG-I mean he was spending the money and when they came back after the Bears TO and I saw Manning was still on the field and they were going for it instead of kicking he went ballistic! Oh well now he hates the Colts as much as I do.:P
Great first quarter, lousy game overall.
Does Rex Grossman start at QB for the Bears next year-he was even worse than I expected. If he was a soccer player he'd need bodyguards 24/7.
Losuy commercials I agree.
So when does training camp start?:D

Just my two cents about the game and I'm sure most of it's been already posted but I'm not going through all the messages.
First, congrats to the Colts and Manning. They deserved it.
Now my venting.
Why the hell didn't Rivera, Bear's defensive coordinator, make any adjustments to the pass defense? No rush on Manning, the DBs and LBs kept dropping too far back, and Manning kept dinking and dunking any receiver who was open five yards past the line of scrimmage. These receivers were wide open the entire game! There goes his stock as a potential head coach this offseason.
Smith should have pulled Grossman early in the second half. Fumbled handoffs, lobbing passes for INTs. The kid just lost it after halftime.
Benson's injury which killed our 1-2 punch running the ball. Jones still did a decent job but it put more pressure on Grossman who couldn't handle it.
The Bear's going 3, 4 or 5 and out on offense kept the defense on the field which wore down as the game progressed. You won't win many football games that way.
Oh well, 50 some days until Opening Day.:gulp:

I was wondering that as well.
He was just useless and I was sure they'd pull him-especially after he fell down because of the pass rush and then fumbled on the next play-I was sure that was the end of him.
Do you think he'll be the starting QB next year-you know if you guys had even a decent QB you might have won that game.
The short stuff over the middle did kill you-I saw it kill the Pats but I thought the Bears had the personnel to handle it better.
Sorry you guys lost. It was just the Colts year.

I got an email from MLB selling Colts stuff. Why would they promote the NFL on their website?

This memorabilia stuff is such a racket. My husband did some shopping last week and in the process of getting something visited several stores and talked to the owners and was just amazed at what these guys get to show up and sign stuff-it's pretty sickening actually. Lawrence Maroney was offered $10,000 to show up for a couple of hours and sign and he wants $20,000-hey Lawrence, why don't you worry about gaining a few yards in a playoff game first.;)

We signed Griese as his backup and he did better in the preseason, but Train Rex is a first round draft pick, makes the $$$, etc. He looked great the first few games and there was talk of him being the league MVP.
Griese didn't play until mop up duty in the final regualar season game and looked just as bad as Train Rex. I'm not saying we would have won if he played but he sure couldn't do any worse in the second half.
Kyle Orton was a stud at Purdue and was thrust into the starting position during the '05 season due to injuries. He looked just as bad as Train Rex but got the benefit of the doubt because of youth and inexperience.
Smith coddles Train Rex just as bad as Dusty Baker coddles his players. Look for Smith to hand him the starting job when training camp opens.

First of, Congrats to the Indianapolis Colts on a hell of a game, they executed their game plan, both offensively and defensively, perfectly.
now as a Bears fan here are my thoughts on the game:
Im very dissapointed with both Ron Rivera (defensive coordinator) and Ron Turner (offensive coordinator), they didnīt put our players in the best possible scenario to make the plays.
Turner, what happened man?, how many times did you call for a pass on 2nd and short!? run the football!, eat time off the clock, keep Manning off the football field, thatīs the only way you can keep him from scoring points, also whatīs with all the long passes called? in those conditions is very hard for a QB (any QB) to have enough grip on the ball to make a well thrown deep pass, thatīs something Peyton and the Indyīs coaches knew all along, but you called them anyway, the result: 2 intīs (should have been like 4)... on short to medium passes Grossman was on target, the WRīs found themselfs with the ball between the numbers, also we didnīt show the play action pass until the 3rd quarter, why?, all season long we ran the ball early and often to set up the play action pass... also the O-Line wasnīt giving him enough time, he was getting pressured on almost every single pass play, you canīt expect to get into a rhythm with that kind of protection, or lack there of, while on the other side Peyton was getting all the time in the world.
Rivera, why did you get away from the Cover 2?, it was working early in the game, in all the key passes Manning completed we were playing man to man, if you would have stayed with the Cover 2 the outcome of the game might have been a lot different, yes Peyton would have still made those short passes to Joseph Addai but I would rather give up 5 to 7 yards per play rather than a 20+ yards pass, also with playing the Cover 2 you extend your opponentīs drive, and anything can happen when you do that (false starts, fumbles, intīs, bad hands off, sacks... well you get the point).
we were simply outcoached...

Not really....Grossman was just terrible. The Hayden pick was a god awful throw...just a floater that hung for an eternity.
He also had Berrian wide open by about 10 yards on a deep route that would have made it 29-24 with plenty of time left, but he underthrew him by 10 yards, hung the ball in the air too long and allowed Sanders to come over and make the INT.
